Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What motivated you to become a Life Coach?
A: I have faced many personal & business challenges in my life; loss of jobs, career transitions, starting my own business, spousal abuse, relationships with addicts, divorce, single parenting and the sudden death of my parents and one of my sisters. During those times, I was overwhelmed with feelings of despair, guilt, shame, anger and frustration (just to name a few). My life was full of drama.
Feeling paralyzed, alone and believing I was a failure was heartbreaking and painful. This was NOT how I wanted to live my life. I was determined to create a good life for my children and myself. However, I also knew that if life was going to be different, I needed to be honest with myself, accept the fact that many of the crisis in my life were the result of choices I had made. It was not an option… I had to get real with myself, become more present in my life and most of all change the way I was thinking!
At the suggestion of a psychotherapist, I began to read books that helped me to take a closer look at myself. I started keeping a journal and I became more conscious of how I was keeping myself stuck. I learned to value and love myself, all of me, not just the part of me that was acceptable to everyone else, I learned to love the broken parts too. Like an exquisite stained glass window made of many pieces of broken colored glass, slowly over the years, I am becoming whole.
My dream is to help other women who may be going through what I have already experienced. By becoming a Life Transition Coach and sharing what I have learned along my path, I believe I can help those who are tired of being in emotional pain and are ready to take that step out of the darkness and into the light.
Q: How did you become a Life Coach?
I studied psychology at Kennesaw State University and received my training as a Life Coach from Coach Training Alliance. I am a member of the International Coach Federation as well as the Georgia Coach Association. My formal training as a Life Coach combined with my life experiences prepared me to help women to re-discover their innate wisdom, beauty and strength to overcome obstacles, gain clarity, take action and reclaim their power.
As a Life Coach, I offer my services to those who are on a journey of self-discovery and growth, who are serious about taking control of their lives and who are passionate about making a real change in their lives.
Q: Who are your clients?
A: My clients are a lot like you! Women who feel overwhelmed by areas of their lives that are out of control, or who are at a major crossroads. Maybe they are considering a career or relationship change. Women who are recovering from divorce or facing challenges that come with being a single parent. Some of my clients are successful career women or entrepreneurs who want to stretch themselves to reach their full potential.
What all my clients have in common, is that they are tired of feeling overwhelmed and feeling their life is out of control. They are ready to make the investments and the changes necessary to gain control, put a stop to limiting beliefs, live authentically and create more fulfilling lives!
Q: What is expected from your clients?
A: I work with motivated women who are ready to make a significant change in their lives, ready to make an investment in themselves and looking for an objective thinking partner to help them to gain control over their lives and reach the next level of performance. The client must be “coachable”. In other words, having a great coach is only part of the equation. To be successful, the client must want to get control in their life and be ready to make changes. Clients who possess the following attributes are most likely to achieve the fastest results:
- Courage: Willing to try new approaches that might be outside their comfort zone.
- Trusting: The coach/client relationship is only effective if trust is present.
- Flexibility: Actively seeking new ideas and open to trying new approaches even if there is some skepticism on the part of the client.
- Honest: Willing to present all aspects of issues, including the client’s contribution to a challenge so that I am working with all the facts.
- Desire: Open to engaging their imagination to envision what things might be like, without perceived limitations
- Listening: Open to new ways of viewing existing perceptions. This takes a degree of openness that does not come naturally to all leaders.
- Accountability: A “coachable” candidate WANTS to be accountable for doing what she has agreed to do. This is where the “magic” happens.
- Persistent: To push through and do the work required to create real change.

Q: How long does it take to see results?
A: Every client is different, however most clients begin to experience a shift in the way they think after the first session. To reach your personal goals, the amount of time it takes depends upon your honesty, willingness to implement change and your commitment to full completion of the action steps that you agree to take each week. The number of sessions needed is always determined by the client.
Q: How will we work together?
A: You will receive total support from me. Our sessions will be confidential in person, by telephone and/or email. Our work together will also include action steps and reading assignments that you agree to do between sessions. My role is to provide encouragement, an objective viewpoint and help keep you accountable each week for your action steps and reading assignments.
Q: This sounds wonderful and I really want to sign up for coaching sessions. My schedule is already hectic, how much time do I need?
A: Together we will find time in your schedule each week to either meet in person or conduct the sessions by telephone. Each session is typically 45 – 60 minutes. I have found in my own life that I always find time to do the things that mean the most to me. How committed are you to gaining more control over your life?
